We have offered packaged tours of Dorchester County for more than 15 years to bus companies, travel organizations, senior centers, AARP chapters, church groups, and many other groups who are interested in learning about what Dorchester County has to offer!

Dorchester Heritage & Wildlife

Visit Hoopers Island, gorge on a buffet-style meal that provides the full flavor of the Eastern Shore, check out Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, visit a popular produce market, and then shop for seafood to take home!

Meet your step-on tour guide at the Dorchester County Visitor Center in Cambridge, Maryland and travel through the lush pine forests and over the waterways of Dorchester County, enroute to Hoopers Island. Enjoy the scenery while our tour guide educates and entertains you about the history and way of life in our area.

Upon arrival on Hoopers Island, we’ll ride by some notable landmarks, including where the Phillips Seafood empire all began, as well as go over the Narrows Ferry Bridge, where you can see both the Chesapeake Bay and Honga River in all their glory!

Arrive at Old Salty's Restaurant for an out of this world buffet-style meal that features locally-harvested seafood, such as crab cakes, fish, and clam strips. The meal also has non-seafood items like chicken, tossed salad, vegetables, macaroni and cheese, homemade rolls, and much more. An assortment of meringue pie slices are available for dessert. Water and iced tea are standard for drinks.

After lunch, we'll head to the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center and Gift Shop. Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge has 28,000 acres of forest, fields, marshes, and waterways in Dorchester County. The Visitor Center has many exhibits of the various wildlife species that inhabit this area, along with a theater, butterfly garden, and telescopes through which you can see eagles nests.



Then, we'll get back on the bus and tour Blackwater's Wildlife Drive. We'll see how much of Dorchester's wildlife we can see up close!

Then, we'll visit Emily's Produce, a popular produce market that is owned and operated by a family who has been farming the fields of Dorchester County for 7 generations. Emily's Produce offers a wide variety of local fruits and vegetables, meats, plants, jams, jellies, and many more items.



When we return to Cambridge, we'll stop at Kool Ice & Seafood, where you'll have the opportunity to purchase seafood to take home! Bring your coolers if you'd like to do this!

2:00pm: Arrive at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center & Gift Shop

4:00pm: Visit Emily's Produce

4:45pm: Visit Kool Ice & Seafood

5:15pm: Conclusion of Tour
